Hello Students, The National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has been conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) since 2019. For JEE (Main) 2025, a significant change has been announced regarding the exam pattern, specifically in Section B of each subject.

Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the NTA had made an adjustment to the JEE (Main) exam pattern starting from 2021. In Section B, candidates were allowed to attempt any 5 out of 10 questions, giving them flexibility to choose based on their strengths. This was introduced as a temporary measure to accommodate students during the disruptions caused by the pandemic. The optional question format was continued until the 2024 examination.

With the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring an end to the COVID-19 public health emergency on May 5, 2023, the NTA has decided to discontinue the optional selection of questions in Section B for JEE (Main) 2025. Moving forward, candidates appearing for Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech), Paper 2A (B Arch), and Paper 2B (B Planning) will have to attempt all 5 questions in Section B without any choices.

This means that the examination structure will revert to its original format, where Section B will contain only 5 questions, and all are mandatory for students to attempt.

Key Points for JEE Aspirants

• Section B will no longer offer optional questions. Candidates must attempt all 5 questions.

• The change is applicable for all papers—Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), Paper 2A (B Arch), and Paper 2B (B Planning).

• For the conduct of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025, the registration process for online application form will commence in due course.

• Registration for JEE Main 2025 will start in due course of time. Don't trust rumours, keep visiting official website of NTA.

• Candidates are advised to regularly check the official websites of NTA (nta.ac.in) and the JEE (Main) portal (jeemain.nta.nic.in) for the latest updates.
