NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: NTA Opens Window to Update Present Address & Exam City Choice

The National Testing Agency has opened the correction window for candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The re-exam is being conducted after the cancellation of the 3 May NEET UG 2026 examination due to the alleged paper leak controversy.

Candidates can now update their present address and preferred examination cities through the official website of NTA NEET Official Website.

NTA Opens Correction Window for Present Address & City Choice

According to the latest notice released by the National Testing Agency, the correction facility will remain active till 21 May 2026 (11:50 PM).

Students are allowed to update:

  • Present Address
  • First Preferred Examination City
  • Second Preferred Examination City

Candidates who do not make any changes during this period will retain their previously selected exam city.

NTA has clearly stated that no other details can be edited apart from the present address and city choice. Requests for corrections after the deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Importantly, no correction fee will be charged from candidates for using this facility.

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Date and Timing

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on:

  • Date: Sunday, 21 June 2026
  • Time: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM (IST)

The examination will continue to be held in Pen & Paper (Offline) mode and will be available in 13 languages.

NTA has informed students that:

  • City Intimation Slips
  • Admit Cards
  • Other examination guidelines

will be released later on the official website by 14 June 2026.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit NEET Official Portal for the latest updates regarding the re-exam.

Why is NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Being Conducted?

The re-examination is being conducted after the cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 exam held on 3 May due to alleged paper leak reports.

The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The agency is examining the paper leak allegations and related activities connected to the examination.

The controversy surrounding NEET UG 2026 has created concern among lakhs of medical aspirants across the country, making this one of the biggest education issues of the year.

  3. Login using Application Number and Password
  4. Update Present Address and Preferred Exam Cities
  5. Submit the form and download the confirmation page
