What Is the Last Date to Apply for JEE Main 2027?

The last date to apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 without a late fee is November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Your application counts as complete only after the fee payment succeeds on or before this time.

JEE Main 2027 Eligibility Criteria

NTA has set three core eligibility rules for JEE Main 2027:

  • No age limit: There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2027. Individual institutes may still apply their own age rules at admission.
  • Class 12 passing year: You must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026, or be appearing in 2027. Students who passed Class 12 in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
  • Qualifying exams: Recognised Class 12 boards (CBSE, CISCE, state boards), NIOS with at least five subjects, a three-year AICTE or state board diploma, and other equivalents listed in the bulletin.

The passing year is the year your Class 12 result was first declared “pass”. Improvement attempts do not change it.

JEE Advanced 2027 link: The top 2,50,000 candidates (all categories included) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2027 become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2027, subject to its other conditions.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1: Step by Step

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and open the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application link. Registration is enabled through MeriPehchaan, the government’s single sign-on service.
  2. Register with your basic details and create a password. Note your system-generated Application Number.
  3. Log in with the Application Number and password.
  4. Fill the application form: personal details, paper choice, exam cities and educational qualifications. Class 12 students appearing in 2027 can enter their board roll or registration number.
  5. Choose up to four exam cities in order of preference.
  6. Upload documents and capture your live photograph.
  7. Pay the fee online and keep the payment proof.
  8. Download and print the Confirmation Page. It is generated only after successful payment.

How to Choose Your JEE Main 2027 Exam City

You can select up to four exam cities. Your choices are limited to the state of your permanent address or present address. NTA allows cities from other states only if fewer than four cities are available within your address states.

Rajasthan exam cities for JEE Main 2027 listed in the bulletin are Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar, Sriganganagar and Udaipur. Students studying in Sikar can choose Sikar as an exam city if their address state is Rajasthan.

NTA tries to allot cities in your order of preference, but its allotment decision is final.

JEE Main 2027 Application Correction Window

The correction window runs from November 27 to November 29, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM). Only the fields NTA enables during the window can be edited, and NTA publishes that list when the window opens.

After the window closes, NTA does not accept change requests by post, email, WhatsApp or in person. Enter your name, date of birth, category and exam city carefully the first time.

JEE Main 2027 Preparation Plan for the January Session

From late October, aspirants have roughly 12 weeks before the first exam date on January 20, 2027. Use them in three phases.

Phase 1: Finish the syllabus and close gaps (now to mid-November)

  • Download the official syllabus from jeemain.nta.nic.in and mark every weak chapter.
  • Finish pending topics first, then revise high-weightage chapters in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Complete your registration in the first week, so form issues never eat into study time.

Phase 2: Practise previous years’ questions (mid-November to late December)

  • Solve previous years’ questions chapter by chapter, then in mixed sets.
  • Practise Section B numerical questions daily. They carry negative marking, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
  • Maintain a short formula and error notebook for quick revision.

Phase 3: Full mock tests in exam conditions (January)

  • Take full 3-hour mock tests in the same shift slot as your likely exam (9 AM or 3 PM).
  • Analyse every test for conceptual errors, calculation slips and time sinks.
  • Reduce new learning in the final week and focus on revision and sleep.
