NEET 2025 Exam Pattern Revised: No Optional Questions, 180-Minute Duration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an important update for NEET (UG) 2025 candidates. The exam pattern and duration will now follow the pre-COVID format, meaning that some changes introduced during the pandemic will no longer apply.

There will be no Section B in the exam anymore. Candidates will now have to attempt a total of 180 compulsory questions 45 each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 from Biology within 180 minutes. Any optional questions and extra time that were introduced due to COVID have been removed.

Changes in NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

As per the update released by NTA now section B has been removed and all questions have been made compulsory, the revised pattern is as follows:

Key Changes in NEET (UG) 2025 Exam Pattern

  1. No Section B Anymore

The optional questions that were introduced due to COVID-19 are now removed.

  1. Total Questions:

The exam will have 180 compulsory questions, distributed as follows:

  • Physics: 45 questions

  • Chemistry: 45 questions

  • Biology: 90 questions

 

  1. Exam Duration:

Candidates will get 180 minutes (3 hours) to complete the paper.

This update means aspirants need to focus on all topics thoroughly, as there won’t be any choices in the question paper.
